Grizzly G1023RL 10 in 3 HP 240V Cabinet Table SawA 10 in, 3 HP, 240V cabinet saw with a riving knife and splitter guard that change quickly, a 4 in dust port, a locking magnetic switch and a 40 by 27 in table. Grizzly cites a Fine Woodworking Best Value.
Who it is for
- A woodworker who has outgrown a contractor or hybrid saw and wants the mass and power of a cabinet saw.
- Shops that can bring 240V to the saw location.
- People who cut thick hardwood, run dado stacks and rip long stock regularly.
- Anyone who wants a quick-change riving knife and a magnetic switch with a large STOP paddle.
Who should skip it
- Shops limited to 120V. The G0771Z hybrid is the realistic path there.
- Garages where a 508 lb machine cannot be moved or parked in a fixed spot. A cabinet saw is not a mobile tool.
- Contractors who need to carry a saw to a job site.

What the spec sheet does not tell you
A 14A draw at 240V is far gentler on the wiring than the same horsepower at 120V would be, which is why serious saws are 240V. You still want a dedicated circuit and a plug matched to the receptacle. The workshop electrical guide covers sizing the circuit.
The 32 in right rip is the number that decides whether you can break down sheet goods on the saw. A 32 in fence capacity handles half a sheet plus a margin. Full sheets of plywood still need support at the outfeed, and a table of 40 in width helps but does not replace a proper outfeed table or a track saw for the first cut.
The 3 in depth of cut at 90 degrees and 2-1/8 in at 45 degrees are strong for a 10 in blade. Thick hardwood rips are what the 3 HP is for: the motor holds blade speed through the cut, which reduces burning and tear-out. The 4200 RPM arbor speed is a figure to know when you choose blades.
A single 4 in dust port is the weakest part of any cabinet saw design, because most of the dust falls inside the cabinet. Plan a collector with enough airflow and a hose that does not choke the port; our dust collection calculator can size it. Delivery is freight at 508 lb, so budget for a liftgate, a pallet jack and four capable helpers to place the saw.
The honest weakness
The weakness is the lack of a flesh-sensing brake. This is a conventional cabinet saw with a riving knife, a splitter guard and a magnetic switch. It does not include the active injury mitigation of a SawStop, and a buyer who values that feature above everything should read our SawStop PCS175 review. The cost of that technology goes into the SawStop; the Grizzly spends its budget on mass and horsepower.
Grizzly direct vs Amazon
Grizzly sells this saw direct and lists the manual, the parts breakdown and the freight details on the product page. For a 508 lb machine, a single seller handling the freight and the warranty is a real advantage.
The closest Amazon-sold comparison is another 3 HP, 230V cabinet saw. Pick the Grizzly for the combination of mass, rip capacity and direct support; pick the Amazon-sold alternative if you prefer that brand and its dealer network.
Powermatic 10-Inch Table Saw, 30-Inch Rip, 3 HP, 230V (PM2000B)This is the nearest match we could find on Amazon in the same class. It is a different machine from the Grizzly, so compare the spec sheets side by side rather than assuming they are equivalent.
Alternatives worth considering
Grizzly G0771Z 10 in 2 HP 120V Hybrid Table Saw w/ T-Shaped FenceThe 2 HP G0771Z is an enclosed hybrid saw prewired for 120V, with 30 in rip capacity. It is the choice if 240V is not available.
Grizzly G0962 10 in 2 HP Open-Stand Hybrid Table SawThe G0962 is the open-stand hybrid with a built-in mobile base and the same 30 in rip capacity.

Common questions
Is the G1023RL a replacement for the G0690?
Grizzly lists the G0690 as discontinued, and the G1023RL is the closest current model in the same 10 in, 3 HP, 240V cabinet class with a riving knife and 32 in rip.
Can the G1023RL run on 120V?
No. It is a 240V saw. If you only have 120V, look at a hybrid saw such as the G0771Z.
How heavy is the G1023RL?
Grizzly lists a 508 lb ship weight. Plan freight delivery and a moving plan for the shop.
Does the G1023RL have a riving knife?
Yes. Grizzly lists a riving knife and splitter guard that change quickly.
